BWT Diamond Mineralized Water

Diamond Mineralized Water is the mineralized water of BWT, the Austrian water treatment group. Rather than shipping in bottles, it filters mains water on site, then enriches it with magnesium and silicates, to serve it chilled, still or sparkling, in restaurants and hotels.

BWT’s story begins in 1823, when Johann Adam Benckiser founded a small chemical plant in Germany. In 1990, Andreas Weißenbacher bought Benckiser Wasser Technik, which became BWT; two years later its headquarters moved to Mondsee, in Austria. The group now has more than 80 subsidiaries and companies.

Its mineralization technology is patented. By avoiding the transport of bottles, it helps cut the CO₂ emissions that come with it and the glass and plastic waste; up to 10% of Diamond’s turnover goes to the AQUA PEARLS foundation, which funds access to drinking water, including wells in Africa. Among its chef ambassadors: Norbert Niederkofler, of AlpiNN in South Tyrol, and Juan Amador, in Vienna.

A Premium Official Partner of LaListe since 2024, Diamond serves its water at LaListe’s evenings, from the Paris Gala to the Garden Party, and supports its Asia tour. It also sponsors LaListe awards: the Game Changer Award, the Ethical & Sustainability Award and, for pastry and bakery, the Innovation and Ethical & Sustainability awards.
